Have you ever had a verse that continually reappears in front of you at different times in your life? This verse from Isaiah 26:3 is one that has been so encouraging to me the last few months. The Lord keeps placing it in front of me at unexpected times when I need it most. When the worries and stresses of my life feel too heavy for me to bear, it is easy to look at what others have and strive to achieve things I think I need or want. I think if I just work hard enough, I’ll be able to achieve everything I think I need to be happy and successful.
But that is exhausting, and it does not bring about peace.
This verse comes to me in times when I need God most of all. It reminds me to look to Christ and find all my peace in Him. He is more beautiful to me than anything in this world, and He has never failed me or disappointed me. When the cares of the world crowd around me, Christ is my anchor. He calms the thoughts in my mind and gives peace to my heart when I put my trust in Him.
I love this verse because it reminds me that the beauty of obeying Christ far surpasses the momentary pleasures of this world. We can trust our lives to our loving Heavenly Father who will never leave or forsake us. I hope this painting is an encouragement to others and a reminder to keep our hearts stayed on Christ and to trust always in Him.
Psalm 22:5 – to you they cried out and were delivered. In you they trusted and were not disappointed.
